Our History
Although Northern, Inc. has been operating in the Cody, Wyoming region , our journey began in June 2011 when owner Nathan Cook purchased Northern, Inc. Nathan, the business owner of Positive Progressions, has been operating in Park County. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Nate along with a group of therapists started providing much needed counseling for the region. While working with the community Nate realized the overwhelming need for a higher standard of placement for adults with DD and ABI. Nate started as an independent provider for the waiver under Positive Progressions, soon the company started to build and Nathan seized the opportunity to purchase Northern, Inc. in June 2011. Today our programs are found in 4 communities serving our members (persons served), adult day services facilities in Cody, Lander, and Byron, numerous community living homes and residential living homes. We believe that Medicaid money is sacred money and everyone who works for Northern, Inc. has the same golden thread attitude and provides the absolute best services to our members and their families.

Brynn McCullough began working in this field when she was 19 years old not knowing that this job would become her passion. She started as a direct care professional in group homes and loved it from day one. She knew she wanted to work towards a career in the industry and really wanted to make a difference in the lives of those she served.
Brynn McCullough began working in this field when she was 19 years old not knowing that this job would become her passion. She started as a direct care professional in group homes and loved it from day one. She knew she wanted to work towards a career in the industry and really wanted to make a difference in the lives of those she served. Being a direct care provider she noticed all of the areas that were lacking including putting the clienteIe and their wants and needs first. "I hated that the people I worked with did not feel like their voices were being heard." "I was doing my best to advocate for each of them before the person-centered philosophy became mainstream." She says. After many years working side by side with owner Nate Cook, Brynn is now the CEO of Northern, Inc.

Janice Nissen has worked at Northern for a little over 10 years. She started at the residential program in 2011 but is now the Program Director in Park County. She loves working with individuals and watching them grow. People trust her with their feelings whether it is emotional or in voicing their needs and wants and she works hard to make sure their voices are heard. In her spare time Janice enjoys outdoor activities - fishing, camping, etc., and of course, playing with her dogs: Jack (the adult day services mascot), Fancy and Rigby.

Nikkie Beddoes brings nineteen years experience working with people with developmental, physical, and behavioral disabilities, along with those who have dual diagnosis'. Along with working with individuals with aquired brain injuries, she brings to Northern, a vast knowledge of developing and implementing program goals, and objectives.
Danielle Summers - Human Resources Director
Danielle's education is in MMIS (Management, Marketing, and Information Systems), with an emphasis in Human Resources from St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer Indiana. Danielle brings over 25 years experience in Operations Management to the facility.
